The Rainbow Calendar Project is running its third photography competition and FREE calendar, to create an LGBTIQA+ resource featuring photography and stories showcasing our community.
Twelve photographs will be included in the 2019 printed calendar, to be distributed throughout Australia, and will feature with 12 additional photographs in an exhibition during this year’s Feast Festival. There are also prizes packs to be won for the top 3 images as selected by the judging panel.
The theme of ‘Kaleidoscope: As we are’ has been chosen for this year’s photography competition and exhibition to inspire and guide your submissions – this can be interpreted in any way you like. A kaleidoscope is known as something that shows an ever-changing pattern or sequence of both colours and patterns. The LGBTIQA+ community is often considered as one large group of people, but in reality, it is made of many smaller communities from many different parts of the broader population, each with various life experiences and interactions. This is what we want to see – the overlapping or intersection of things in our lives including cultural diversity, faith backgrounds, families, living with disability, geographical location, age, gender, and so much more.
